How to bag free food and drink as Wendy's prepares to open up Middlesbrough eatery
There are just hours to go until US burger chain Wendy's opens its first Teesside restaurant in Middlesbrough.
The brand is set to open the doors at Units 6 and 7 at Captain Cook Square on Thursday, May 16, after months of refurbishment works at the former Thomas the Baker. The fast food spot, best known for its square burgers, will join Level X as the next venue opening in the regenerated leisure complex.
Doors will open to the public at 10.30am, but Wendy's superfans will be able to begin queuing outside the eatery from 9am, where free food or merch up will be up for grabs for those in the queue before the ribbon is cut. There will also be chances to win free food and drinks for everyone who visits in store on the opening day.

The new restaurant will provide fans with the signature Wendy’s items across breakfast, lunch, and dinner, including the Baconator, Dave’s Single, the Spicy Chicken Sandwich, and the Frosty dessert in chocolate and vanilla flavours.
The restaurant will also offer a selection of meals sourced from Halal Certified Suppliers - these include all of the restaurant's fried chicken options (classic and spicy nuggets, classic and spicy chicken burgers, and salads).
The opening hours of the Middlesbrough restaurant are:
Monday-Thursday 7am-11pm
Friday-Saturday 7am-11pm
Sunday 8am-11pm
