Bake Off confirms returning contestants for 2023 Christmas and New Year specials
The Great British Bake Off has confirmed which contestants are returning for the Christmas Eve and New Year specials.
This year Channel 4 has decided to forego celebrities and feature returning favourites in both of its seasonal episodes, with 10 familiar faces coming back to the tent for another chance at glory.
The Christmas Eve special features George (series 12), Sophie (series 8), Dan (series 9), Amelia (series 10), Linda (series 11), and Carole (series 13).

Six bakers in one specials seems like it's going to be some fierce competition, and with everyone coming from a different series, it'll be interesting to see all these bakers interact for the first time.
Meanwhile, the New Year's special line-up consists of Mark (series 11), Maxy (series 13), Maggie and Jürgen (both series 12).
Jürgen feels like he'll be the one to beat here, but festive Bake Off specials are all about the taking part rather than the winning. That, and making us want even more food despite everything we've already eaten.

Elsewhere, some of the bakers from the most recent series reunited after the filming for a festive photo, that saw some of our recent favourites dressed up as elves and Christmas puddings.
The Bake Off Christmas special is set to air on Christmas Eve.
Meanwhile, Channel 4's Christmas Day line-up is set to include festive specials of The Piano and The Great Pottery Throwdown, as well as the annual Alternative Christmas Message.
The Great Christmas Bake Off airs on December 24 at 8.15pm on Channel 4, while The Great New Year's Bake Off airs on January 1 at 7.40pm. Previous series and specials are available to stream now on Channel 4 website and app.
