Bake Off's Paul Hollywood and Noel Fielding bond on boy's night out

Paul Hollywood and Noel Fielding have kicked off what could be the best baking bromance.

The celebrity duo enjoyed a boy’s night out as they bonded ahead of Channel 4’s new series of The Great British Bake Off.

Hollywood documented the night on Instagram by posting a selfie of the smiling pair as they braved the cold.

He captioned the shot: “Catching up with Noel..”

Their night out comes days after Hollywood revealed he hasn’t yet screen tested with Mary Berry’s replacement Prue Leith or presenters Fielding and Sandi Toksvig, who have take over from Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc.

Asked on Loose Women if he’d met his new co-stars yet, he replied: “No, we’re about to. But it’s going to be kept so quiet.

“Most people are in the dark, it’s kept very quiet for obvious reasons.”

He also defended Fielding’s casting against critics, saying: “I’m a big fan of Noel, and Sandi actually, and Prue.

“Obviously she’s got this huge professional background working in London for years, and I’ve got nothing but respect for her.”

Toksvig also defended Fielding and said that she is “absolutely confident” the Mighty Boosh star is the right choice.

“He is a huge fan of the show,” she told the Telegraph. “I'm absolutely confident he will bring the same level of love that I'll bring to it. That's all you can do, right?”

“I love him. We're good friends. He's going to dress better than me, but other than that we're all right. And I imagine he has more eyeliner than I do.”

She added: “But you know, it's about the bakers and I'm looking forward to giving them the best care that I can.”

The Great British Bake Off is on Channel 4 later this year.
