Landscapes & Landslides, a new emo rock four-piece band are poised to release their debut self-titled, self-produced release on Friday, April 19.

The Kilmarnock band, Christopher Williams – guitar and lead vocals, Kyle Roberts – guitar, Murray Baxter – bass and vocals and Asier Lopez – drums, describe themselves as Midwest (Coast Of Scotland) Emo, and feature members from previous bands, Twin Heart, DreamKids and Frog Fountain.

Taking musical influences from the likes of American Football, Movements and Microwave, Landscapes & Landslides have created a fresh take on Midwest Emo, drifting between aggressive guitars and rhythms and poignant melodies and vocals.

Their opening track Maybe One Day encapsulates this approach with a frantic introduction followed by softer melodic guitars and singalong gang vocals.

Track two, Twenty Twelve, offers a slightly different take, leaning towards the pop/punk side of the fence, following a traditional song-writing structure, and showcasing dual vocals throughout.

Final track Leaves, tells a story of the working-class daily commute and the struggles of life, while musically incorporating early 2000s inspired Emo Rock with Scottish influenced bittersweet stylistics throughout.

Landscapes & Landslides are set to play their first live performance of 2024 on Friday, May 24 at Venue 38, Ayr, as part of Sun Turtle Records’ Summer Showcase, supporting Ayrshire’s Day Drunk.
