Bargain Hunt star announces 'that's a wrap' as he confirms 'I'm coming home'

Over recent weeks, viewers of Bargain Hunt have expressed their disappointment as the BBC has been airing re-runs of the show.

However, according to presenter Roo Irvine, this is about to change. The BBC star took to social media to share some behind-the-scenes photos, confirming that new episodes of Bargain Hunt are in production.

She captioned the images: "That's a wrap! Another bunch of brand new Bargain Hunt episodes in the oven, baking away for your delectable delight! Bonnie Scotland, open those gates, I'm coming home!"

Her update was met with excitement from fans of the show, who are eager for the end of the repeats, reports the Express.

One person asked: "When will we see them, cos all there is at the moment is repeats! ".

Another commented: "Will look forward to watching the new episodes. Great lunchtime viewing."

"Thank goodness, really missing new episodes. Keep up the good work Roo and can't wait to see you on the TV really soon. Take care, keep safe and well," added another fan.

While someone else said: "Looking forward to the new ones... and your outfits."

Roo's announcement comes after another star of the show, John Cameron, experienced a serious health issue just before filming his episode.

In late June, the BBC host revealed he had fallen ill 10 minutes before filming for Bargain Hunt was due to start.

He was rushed to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth where he had a stent fitted.

In a photo posted from his hospital bed, he revealed that a blocked artery led to a heart attack just ahead of filming an auction segment in Southsea.

His caption included: "Not sure how many of my 9 lives still remain but I definitely lost one yesterday."

Apologising for the shock he caused his family, the Bargain Hunt celebrity received an outpouring of support from well-wishers.

Following the incident, he appears to be on the mend, having adopted healthier habits such as quitting smoking and reducing alcohol intake.

Bargain Hunt is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
