Barnstaple’s Rock Park transforms into a wonderland as Rowlands fun fair rolls into town

Barnstaple is buzzing with excitement as the annual Fun Fair rides back into town. There will be a Fun Fair in Rock Park, Barnstaple from Friday May 10 until Saturday May 18. The traditional annual event returns with all the usual attractions offered by Rowlands, who are members of the Showmen’s Guild.

Town Mayor Louisa York said: "We’re delighted to be able to host Rowlands fair in Rock Park once again. There’s always a thrill in the local community when the fair arrives and it’s very popular with our residents. We hope families and friends enjoy all the fun of the fair.”

Rowlands announced that they have more rides and attractions this year, including Blaze, Waltzer and Crazy Frog amongst others. Thery are also hosting two Character Days, with Dinosaurs, Zoomania, and the Jurassic Park Jeep in attendance on Saturday, May 11 and the Real life Animal Show, Bluey, and Bingo making an appearance on Saturday 18.

A variety of rides and attractions are planned for all ages with Rowlands stating “We are accredited members of The Showmen’s Guild of Great Britain and ensure our rides, both big and small, are immaculately maintained, regularly checked and fully compliant with industry health and safety standards, from the very latest high impact thrill rides to traditional carousel gallopers.”

A wide range of side-show games and on-site catering will also be in place. This year Rowlands are offering unlimited rides for £14.99, reduced to £12.99 if booked online. Further details can be found on their Facebook page or at
