Bath General Election results in full as Lib Dems hold

Bath has re-elected Liberal Democrat MP Wera Hobhouse for a third term as its MP.

The seat had been forecasted by pollsters as a comfortable Liberal Democrat hold - and they were proven right.

The city has always gone between the Liberal Democrats and Conservatives. But the Conservatives are now in third place, with Labour overtaking them in number of results received.

As well as candidates from the Conservatives, Labour, and the Greens, both Nigel Farage’s Reform UK and George Galloway’s Workers Party have also fielded candidates in the city.

There were also multiple independents standing. Independent councillor for Westmoreland Colin Blakburn has thrown his hat into the ring. Meanwhile Bill Blockhead — who stood in 2019 on a platform of the UK leaving the solar system — is back to stand again. As is A.N.ON, who previously stood for election in 2010, getting 69 votes.

Though most well known for its wealthy Georgian city centre, some parts of Bath area in the ten percent most deprived areas in the country. Low traffic neighbourhoods have been a controversial issue in the city, as they are rolled out by the Liberal Democrat-controlled Bath and North East Somerset Council.
