Bavarian Band Marches From Vatican After Pope Benedict's Funeral

Several traditional marching bands travelled from the late Pope Benedict’s native Bavaria to Rome on January 5 for the pontiff’s funeral, Corriere della Sera reported.

Video by journalist Esther Yanez shows one of the bands just outside the Vatican after the morning service in St Peter’s Square.

Pope Francis presided over the funeral Mass, which was attended by thousands. Afterwards, Benedict’s remains were due to be entombed in the Vatican Grottoes, underneath St Peter’s Basilica, alongside many of his papal predecessors. Credit: Esther Yanez via Storyful
