Bayern Munich have been dealt a fresh blow ahead of their decisive Champions League tie against Arsenal. The German giants played out a 2-2 draw with the Gunners in the first leg of their quarter-final last Tuesday.

Bayern recorded a 2-0 win over Koln on Saturday but did end the game with a new injury concern. Winger Kingsley Coman picked up an adductor muscle issue and was substituted in the 50th minute. That makes the French forward doubtful for Wednesday’s second leg against Arsenal and could be a boost for Mikel Arteta’s side.

Coman may join Serge Gnabry on the sidelines for Bayern, who proved to be a danger against his former side. Gnabry scored against the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium but was substituted after 70 minutes due to a hamstring strain. However, Bayern received a further blow on Sunday without being in action.

Unlike Arsenal, Bayern are not involved in a title race. The win over Koln only briefly halted Bayer Leverkusen’s celebrations as Xabi Alonso’s side were crowned champions on Sunday. Winning their first-ever Bundesliga title, Leverkusen have remained unbeaten throughout the season, becoming the first team to deny Bayern since 2012.

On Coman's injury, Tuchel told Sky Sports: "The big downside to the whole game is the injury to Kingsley Coman. It makes me very sad because I know how hard he worked and how important he is for us. First Serge Gnabry is out, then he and Leroy Sane are doubts [for Wednesday].”

Arsenal will also want to find the right response after their defeat to Aston Villa on Sunday cost them momentum in the Premier League title race. A win over Bayern in the second leg would see the Gunners reach the Champions League semi-finals for the first time since 2009.
