Yahoo News BBC to air Michael Mosley tribute episodes following death
The BBC is set to air two special programmes in tribute to Michael Mosley following the TV doctor's death.
The presenter's death aged 67 was confirmed over the weekend by his wife Dr Clare Bailey Mosley after he was reported missing on Greek island Symi last week.
Following the sad news, the BBC has now announced tribute episodes about the much-loved broadcaster, including special Michael Mosley – The Doctor Who Changed Britain, which will air on BBC One and iPlayer on Friday (June 14) at 8pm.
The show will "look back at an extraordinary broadcasting career", with his work having "a lasting impact on the nation’s health habits from intermittent fasting to the benefits of a cold shower".
BBC Radio 4 and BBC Sounds will also broadcast Mosley's final interview in There’s Only One Michael Mosley, airing on Friday at 11am.
Taking place at the Hay Festival in May and introduced by presenter Chris van Tulleken, the discussion "sets out to explore the latest studies on how to make the best of the life we have and comes up with Just One Thing we can all put into practise".
Paying tribute to her husband over the weekend, Clare said it was "devastating to have lost Michael, my wonderful, funny, kind and brilliant husband", adding: "We loved each other very much and were so happy together."
She explained that her husband is thought to have collapsed while hiking and taking the wrong route, and thanked the "extraordinary people" of Symi in their efforts to find him.
The One Show and This Morning, two shows that Mosley appeared on, paid tribute following the news of his death.
“His death has been felt by millions of people all around the world who regarded him as their doctor,” One Show presenter Alex Jones said.
This Morning added that they were "heartbroken" over the news, writing: "Everyone at This Morning is thinking of Clare, their four children and the rest of Michael’s family and friends at this extremely sad time."
