Antiques Roadshow viewers were not on the same page as expert Bunny Campione when she called a china doll the “most beautiful” she’d seen on the show. During the episode on Sunday, May 19, which was a repeat of one shown last year held at Buckfast Abbey, Bunny met a woman who brought the doll in for valuation.

The woman explained how the doll had been purchased for her grandmother in France when she was four years old. The doll has been in the family ever since.

Upon being shown the doll, Bunny said: “That is one of the most beautiful dolls I’ve ever seen brought on the Roadshow” but viewers were inclined to disagree, calling it "very creepy".

Writing on social media platform X, formerly Twitter, one person said: ”the most beautiful doll she’s ever seen on the roadshow … if your idea of “beautiful” is “horrific .. and possibly possessed”. A second commented: “Creepiest doll this season!”

A third echoed: “Creepy doll ahead,” while another person wrote: “I’ll be honest I thought it was gonna say 666 on the back of the head.”

While the majority of people on social media thought the doll was creepy, the woman who brought it in was stunned to discover that it was worth £6000. “Oh my goodness. Thank you very much,” she said to Bunny after finding out how much the doll was worth.
