The Apprentice stars Harpreet Kaur and Akshay Thakrar have tied the knot. The 2022 champion started dating her business competitor after meeting on the show.

They got engaged in May last year and a three-day wedding ceremony took place earlier this month. Harpreet, who grew up in Birmingham before moving to Yorkshire with her family at the age of 11, and Ashkay had a three-day wedding.

Akshay wrote on Instagram: "Blessed and Married. Starting our forever chapter."

Akshay, 31, shared with OK! magazine : "It's crazy what a story that we met on the show. I said in my speech, 'I think I'm the only man who can say I met my wife on The Apprentice '."

His 32 year old bride chimed in: "We would love to start a family, but we're going to wait. I want to appreciate each other and travel first."

Their festivities kicked off with a civil ceremony at Wentbridge House Hotel in West Yorkshire. The dessert parlour owner wore a white Enzoani dress and veil to exchange "simple but personal" vows.

She expressed: "It was beautiful, I've always dreamt of a white wedding dress as, being Indian, we don't always make a fuss of that day or the legal bit."

Following a roast dinner with their guests, the couple parted ways in line with tradition, before a Hindu ceremony at Watford's Hare Krishna Temple. In a nod to their meeting on 'The Apprentice', the show's theme tune played during a traditional game in the ceremony, where the winner is considered the "boss" of the relationship - and true to the show's outcome, Harpreet won.

The third day of festivities saw the newlyweds revel in their wedding reception, with the bride stunning in red and her husband dapper in a suit.

Despite Lord Alan Sugar declining the invite to their special day, Harpreet - who has since repurchased her shares from the business magnate - maintained there's no bad blood. Instead, the celebration was graced by fellow former candidates Kathryn Louise Burn, Brittany Carter, Akeem Bundu-Kamara, and Nick Showering, as well as the very first winner Tim Campbell, now an advisor on the programme.
