The cast of BBC's Balamory have thrilled fans with a reunion photo, over 22 years after the popular children's show first aired. The actors look very well - and quite different in the snapshot.

Balamory, which was broadcast from 2002 to 2005, was set in a fictional Scottish island community and followed the lives of its residents, who became familiar faces to young viewers.

The cast included Julie Wilson Nimmo, known for her role in Chewin' the Fat, as school teacher Miss Hoolie, and Juliet Cadzow from River City as bus driver Edie McCredie. Scots Squad star Andrew Agnew played the role of PC Plum.

Andrew shared a photo on social media alongside Julie and Juliet from a stage production featuring their old friend Miles Jupp, who played inventor Archie in Balamory. Posting the photo on X, formerly Twitter, Andrew wrote: "A brilliant night seeing our pal. Go see Miles Jupp On I Bang you won't be disappointed. A superb piece of theatre cunningly disguised as stand-up.", reports the Daily Record.

He added: "Extremely funny but also poignant at points. The intelligence in his comedy is inspired. With friends forever." Fans were quick to express their delight at the reunion, with one commenting: "Sounds like a big Balamory reunion there."

Another said: "What a lovely photo of you all," while a third simply wrote: "Love this." Balamory was filmed mostly in Tobermory on the Isle of Mull, with scenes at Archie's castle filmed in East Lothian, while other locations including the nursery and the mainland were both filmed in Glasgow.

Elsewhere, Balamory star's Julie and Andrew have once again joined forces for the second instalment of CBeebies' Olga da Polga. The show is based on the same titled book, written by Paddington Bear creator Michael Bond. It follows the adventures of guinea pig Olga da Pola and her owner Karen Sawdust, played by Isla Mercer.

Julie Wilson-Nimmo will be reprising her role as Karen's mum, Mrs Sawdust, and her Still Game star husband Greg Hemphill has been cast to play the role of Mr Sawdust.
