In a moment from BBC's Bargain Hunt that left James Lewis stunned, a seemingly "bonkers" purchase by the red team was compensated by an astonishing auction win thanks to The Lord of The Rings.. Izzie Balmer and James were both thrown off guard when the team, having been handed £300 to find their prizes at Wetherby Racecourse, selected an unusual item: a clock made out of a propeller.

One team member, known as H, found himself drawn to the wooden timepiece, despite its significant asking price of £140. Following successful negotiations, the seller agreed to a reduced price of £120.

Izzie suggested that while these peculiar items have had their moments on the auction stage, some were also notable flops. Watching the red team secure the piece at just £95 after haggling some more, she said, "People do collect them, it is expensive for auction but it would tick the big spend, it would tick one of the challenges."

Host Charlie Ross presented the peculiar timepiece to James Lewis who was unimpressed, especially with the steep price paid. Upon closer examination, he opined, "It didn't start life as a good propeller, I'd be surprised if that thing ever flew."

Obviously displeased, he further added, "Then somebody has ripped the front clock off of what looks to be from a Teasmade and hammered it on the front of it. It's an absolute shocking thing! " Moreover, the reveal left him slack-jawed, learning that the team had spent £95 on the questionable ornament, estimated only to fetch between £30 and £50, reports The Express

As James presented the item to the room of potential buyers, he humorously remarked: "Completely bonkers, £35 bid? You're not going to see another! ".

Despite fetching only £40 and resulting in a loss of £55, their luck changed when their Lord Of The Rings figure of Aragorn proved popular with the buyers. Acquired for £150, the bids started coming in thick and fast, and the red team quickly turned a profit within minutes.

After being sold for a total of £260, Izzie celebrated the fantastic sale. As they finished selling all their items, Charlie joked: "I tell you what H, you've made £100 despite buying that propeller. Agreeing, Izzie quipped: " Agreeing, Izzie responded: "I know, which is seriously impressive! ".

Even though both teams made money, H and Maisha emerged as the winners of the episode with a total profit of £100. You can watch Bargain Hunt on BBC i
