BBC Breakfast stars Naga Munchetty and Dan Walker have agreed to a “grudge match” on the golf course with Martin Lewis following his Good Morning Britain stint.

The Money Saving Expert star has had a guest slot on the ITV show, which hasn’t yet announced a permanent replacement following Piers Morgan's departure.

And afterwards he challenged the presenters of the programme’s rival to a little contest on the fairway.

It came about after Lewis thanked his fans for their support during his foray into breakfast TV.

“It’s a privilege to step out of my usual subject area. @susannareid100 is an incredibly generous & supportive co-presenter behind the scenes and the team have looked after me well making it so much easier,” he tweeted.

Walker – who butted heads with Morgan for years over their shows and who was beating who in the ratings – responded: “Glad you enjoyed it Martin.

"How did your brain/body cope?”

Lewis replied: “I really enjoyed it. Thanks for asking.

"But… back knotted due to lack of sleep.

"It’s quite tough to do, then to go to work at MSE afterwards.

“You are made of sterner stuff than me.

“PS Ben & I should take you and Naga on at golf (handicaps in play) as a ‘grudge match’.”

Munchetty agreed, posting that she was “always up for a challenge” and Walker also said yes.

Golf fan Walker recently found himself out on the course with Morgan.

The pair bumped into each other at Wentworth Golf Club in Surrey and couldn’t resist sharing a couple of selfies.

Walker also shared a video clip of Morgan taking a shot.

“Can’t believe it... turn up at Wentworth and guess who is in the group in front???? Yep... @piersmorgan," he wrote.
