After waving goodbye to the sun-soaked shores of Death in Paradise, Tahj Miles has bagged an impressive new gig in a forthcoming BBC drama.

The beloved actor, who charmed audiences as Officer Marlon Pryce in the hit Caribbean-set detective show, is set to embrace a fresh challenge, portraying a character named Daniel in the adaptation of Mr Loverman.

The series is inspired by the novel from acclaimed Booker prize-winning writer Bernardine Evaristo and spins the tale of Barrington Jedidiah Walker. Barrington, 74, must conceal his love affair with his best mate and soulmate, Morris, from Carmel, his wife of five decades.

Faye Ward, Executive Producer at Fable Pictures, expressed her excitement: "We are so excited to bring together this tremendous wealth of acting talent across the board. It's a dream come true and we can't wait for audiences to see Bernardine's story brought to life."

The impressive cast features Lennie James of Line of Duty and The Walking Dead fame, Olivier Award victor Sharon D. Clarke, and Ariyon Bakare from His Dark Materials, reports the Mirror.

His final appearance was on March 3, 2024, when his character's sister Jocelyn received a letter about a scholarship in Jamaica. Reflecting on his time on the show, he expressed his farewell on Instagram with the words: "It's been real people, Marlon out."
