EastEnders fans have been left disappointed at finding out that the soap won't air in its usual slot on Thursday night, 24 hours after viewers' hearts were broken by the harrowing sexual assault plot involving Yolande and the Pastor, as his history of offences against other women was also exposed.

Over the last few weeks, Yolande and the Pastor have spent a lot of time together, as she worked tirelessly to make the charity fundraiser a success. However, on a night that she should have been celebrating the fruits of her labour, Yolande was left hugely distressed, disorientated and in floods of tears, after being attacked by the Pastor in a store cupboard, out of view of the guests at the event.

Traumatised by what had happened to her, Yolande fled the community centre and found safe haven in the laundrette, where she was met by Elaine, who, having seen her go in, managed to get out of her exactly what had happened, as she urged her to tell both husband Patrick and the police, in order for the Pastor to be brought to justice.

As Yolande struggled to comprehend what he'd done, flashbacks cut to his other victims, with his crimes spanning decades as the his victims and one of their husbands were left totally distraught by what he'd done to them. In the final moments of the hour long episode of EastEnders, after making Elaine promise not to tell anyone, Yolande returned home, before breaking down at the foot of the stairs as Patrick waited for her.

While praising the tour de force acting performance of Angela Whyte as Yolande and also full of praise for Harriet Thorp as Elaine, many viewers were really shaken and upset at what they saw on screen, as they hoped that the plot would end with Yolande having the courage to reveal what happened the Pastor being prosecuted.

However, those hoping to follow the storyline on Thursday night will be disappointed, as EastEnders won't air in its usual 7.30pm slot, with it replaced by an episode of Garden Rescue.
