BBC Gardener's World host to take reins from Monty Don again this week

Monty Don will be absent again this week when Gardener's world airs on BBC2. Adam Frost will once again be at the helm of the popular BBC2 gardening show on Friday night at 8pm.

Last week saw Adam interview U2 bassist Adam Clayton as the rock star shared his love of gardening. This week, the BBC listing for the show teases how Adam will be continuing to develop his woodland border, 'ably assisted by Ash the cat'.

Fans of Monty can rest assured he's due back on Friday May 3 for episode eight of the current run. But Adam's stint has gone down well with fans.

They were full of praise for Adam's segment with the U2 star last Friday. Phil Jones said on the BBC Gardener's World Facebook page: "Lucky you Adam. Enjoyed the item.

While Carol Bone said: "Stunning garden and valley absolutely beautiful.." Jela Webb said: "Loved this segment. Adam Clayton's garden is beautiful and it's great to see how he's developed it over the years."

Pam Block said: "This was amazing. The garden, near Dublin is beautiful and has been created, with passion, from nothing, over the last 30 years. Adam Frost is great too!"

The synopsis for Friday's show said: "He (Adam) also gets to work on his veg plot and has a few tips on how to get the best out of the native bluebell.

"Frances Tophill travels to Buckinghamshire to explore a beautiful garden appropriately called Wind in the Willows. And Rekha Mistry prepares for the season ahead in the Peak District.

"There's a champion grower in Manchester whose life is dominated by daffodils. Plus a couple who have created their own slice of paradise on a balcony in north London, which they plan to showcase at this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show."
