BBC Gladiators star Bradley Walsh halts show to deliver 'bad' breaking news
BBC Gladiators star Bradley Walsh has halted the show for "bad" breaking news. BBC Gladiators host Bradley, who typically presents the ITV quiz show The Chase each and every weekday from 5pm, was back hosting the new series alongside son Barney on Saturday (January 18) night.
But the opening episode was brought to an abrupt halt as host Bradley shared some bad news with fans. Bradley said : “Okay, we have some bad news, don’t we? Sadly, one of our gladiators sustained an injury in training, which means he won’t be able to compete in this series.”
Barney added: “But the good news is that he’s still here, he’s joining us in the arena right now. Sheffield, please give a warm welcome to Nitro!” Nitro then appeared on stage, and said: “Obviously I’m explosive, I’m powerful.

"Sometimes I’m too powerful and I end up hurting myself." The Gladiators favourite went on, telling the father and son duo: "I’ve got a bit of a dodgy knee, but these things happen in sport when you’re pushing yourself as hard as you do.
“The pecs aren’t going anywhere, they’re right here, they’re staying here. I need all of those Nitro fans out there to give me some energy because I need to recharge." The news comes after it was revealed two new Gladiators were joining the show.
The new Gladiators are esteemed athletes called Cyclone and Hammer, and behind their stage names, their real names are Lystus Ebosele and Tom Wilson. Returning Gladiator, Legend, shared his thoughts on the two new stars joining the programme.
When asked by Alex Jones what it was like to have two newbies, Legend said: "It felt fine. For me, personally, you can never have too many assistants. Do you know what I mean? You need people. I've got a lot of stuff to carry, you know what I mean?
"Like water, snacks, protein, so, for me, it's quite useful actually, yeah."
