BBC Hairy Bikers' Si King has shared an emotional update on what could be the final project with his late co-star Dave Myers, leaving fans in tears. The beloved Hairy Bikers duo, known for their culinary adventures, faced a poignant moment as Si King took to Instagram to discuss their latest book, 'Fast and Fresh', which was released following Dave Myers' passing in February at the age of 66.

In a touching video posted on the account he once managed with Dave, Si King, aged 57, appeared deeply moved as he held up the cookbook that his friend was "so proud of". He addressed the audience, saying: "Hello everyone it's Si here. Fast and Fresh from The Hairy Dieters is available tomorrow. Thank you if you pre-ordered, it's hugely appreciated."

Si continued to share the passion he and Dave had for the book, stating: "It was a book that Dave and I really loved working on, so yeah there's 80 delicious and easy recipes, easy as I know we're all pushed for time these days. I don't know how that happens but we just are aren't we."

He gave followers a glimpse into the book's content and expressed the joy they experienced while creating it: "It's a lovely book and we had the greatest of joy working on it together. Dave was very proud of it, so here it is."

Expressing gratitude for the constant support from their fans, he added: "Thank you for your continued support" and acknowledged that it "doesn't go unnoticed". Concluding his message with warmth, he said: "Lots of love and I hope you enjoy Fast and Fresh.", reports the Mirror.

Their post quickly received a flood of responses from their 383,000 followers, who offered heartfelt words and expressions of empathy. One wrote: "You are such a lovely guy. Dave was lucky to have you in his life too! " Another said: "Hope you're holding up lad."

A third fan added: "Thinking of you Si and feeling the love for Dave strong as ever! " And one supporter concluded with: "Sending you love Si could hear the sorrow in your voice. What a great legacy Dave leaves behind him. Take care."

The beloved duo's book was their final collaborative project before the passing of Dave at the age of 66 this past February. Earlier this week, Si joined Dave's wife Liliana, along with their friends and family, for an affectionate tribute night to honour his memory.

Moved by the event, Si shared glimpses of the touching evening on his social media, writing: "We had a wonderful evening reminiscing about our dear friend and the room was filled with love as you'd expect Dave would have loved it."

He expressed his appreciation towards those who were able to attend, stating: "Thank you to all that could make it you made it very special."

Dave faced a valiant fight against cancer, which he openly disclosed during the 2022 Hairy Bikers - Agony Uncles podcast. Speaking to The Guardian about why he chose to keep his diagnosis private, he cited his reluctance for people to google his condition or give unwarranted advice, remarking: "I don't want to be judged yet".

By that stage, he was halfway through his chemotherapy treatment and had briefly halted production on their show, The Hairy Bikers Go West.
