BBC Hairy Bikers star Si King issues emotional message and says 'don't for a second think'

BBC Hairy Bikers' Si King has said "don't for a second think" in an emotional video after a ride-out in memory of Dave Myers. BBC and ITV star Dave tragically died from cancer two months ago, with Si keeping fans updated via the Hairy Bikers Instagram account.

"A video message from Si following yesterday's Ride-out tribute to Dave Myers," the official Hairy Bikers page captioned a clip. In the video, Si said: "Astounding - 6,000 of you turned out for Dave and it ended in Scarborough and I heard you had a thoroughly, thoroughly good time and Dave would have loved it. Lily, his wife, and his family and his close mates and me... a massive, massive 'thank you'.

"We are enormously touched by it." Si also urged fans to "don't think for a second it has gone unnoticed". Instagram user Leo replied: "Oh Si, if I could reach through the screen and give you a big old hug... I'm not a biker, but I've been a fan of you both from the beginning, watching so many of your shows you both feel like family, which is an odd thing to say to someone we don't actually know.

"We keep you and Dave's family and friends in our thoughts through these difficult days, take care of yourself too xxx." And another fan replued telling the chef: "Oh Si, crying at such a beautiful post. Your grief must be unbearable."

Poto said: "When you become a biker, you become part of something bigger than all of us. It’s beyond brotherhood or family. It’s hard to explain, but when the call goes out that one of us has got their wings, we as a collective, answer to give our respects.

"May he always ride with you Si, as your guardian angel. He will never be forgotten." Gill said: "Such a lovely gesture and honour for Dave what a lovely man, I’ve always enjoyed watching The Hairy Bikers and my sincere condolences to Dave’s family and to you Si as Dave was like a brother to you"
