BBC Morning Live’s Gethin Jones says 'true meaning of a superstar' in sweet tribute to co-host

Gethin Jones has paid tribute to his BBC Morning Live co-star Kimberley Walsh after watching her perform during her Girls Aloud tour. The Cardiff-born presenter took to social media on Thursday, May 23 to share a sweet message to the singer, saying she was the “true meaning of a superstar”.

Sharing a photo of himself and Kimberley, who he regularly co-hosts with, Gethin penned: “The true meaning of a superstar. @kimberleywalshofficial in total control on stage… just superb! @girlsaloud tonight in Manchester. AMAZING. What an epic show!! Get a ticket and GO! Just a brilliant few hours!”

Gethin was joined during the evening at Manchester's AO Arena by Dr Ranj Singh, who also shared a snap from the event. “We’re ready for you @kimberleywalshofficial @girlaloud!,” Ranj penned.

After Gethin posted the snap of him and Kimberley his comments section was flooded with messages of support for the star. “Wasn’t it just!! *chefs kiss* beautiful tributes to Sarah throughout,” wrote one person referencing the girl group’s tribute to the late Sarah Harding.

A second commented: “AMAZING loved it,” while a third echoed: “The Best Night”. Another person shared: “I saw you in the crowd and I said to my friend omg it’s Gethin. Should have asked for a pic lol”. Gethin and Ranj’s trip to see Kimberley comes following a break for BBC Morning Live. The show will be taking a hiatus for three weeks.

Upon making the announcement about the show Gethin told viewers: "Our last show for three weeks – you'll need the rest. We'll be back on Monday, June 10."
