Welsh TV star Gethin Jones has returned to Wales and his favourite hotel. Posting to his Instagram story Gethin compares the hotel to "being home".

In a video Gethin, who is staying at the Celtic Manor, raves about the hotel. He says: "I've just got the Celtic Manor, about an hour ago, haven't moved from this sofa, it is like being home. I love it here, I miss it when I'm not here."

Gethin, who hails from Cardiff, explained he was back in Wales to take his nephew out for his birthday. He also shared a series of snaps of the celebrations, including visiting popular doughnut van Cardiff Dough and Co. Want less ads? Download WalesOnline’s Premium app on Apple or Android.

The Celtic Manor is a luxury hotel on the outskirts of Newport. Guests can stay in gorgeous hotel rooms or their own lodges and there is a wide choice of dining options at the hotel. The hotel is also home to an impressive golf course and spa.

The TV presenter was missing from BBC's Morning Live, which he normally co-presents every weekday, for his nephew's birthday and was replaced by comedian Jason Manford. Earlier in the week, Jason shared his excitement about the role, promising viewers a touch of "little chaos".

He said: "I'm delighted to have been asked to guest co-host Morning Live this week. I always love supporting a Manchester-based show and every time I've been on as a guest, the team have always been a real pleasure to work with. I'm looking forward to bringing a little chaos to the sofa once we go live!"

Gethin sent Jason a message of support ahead of his debut on the show, saying: "Go well J! " This prompted a grateful response from Jason: "@gethincjones cheers brother! Will keep seat warm for ya." For the latest TV & Showbiz news, sign up to our newsletter.
