Stacey Dooley's appearance on The One Show came to an abrupt end as Roman Kemp rushed her off set and said: "Go, go, go." The documentary-maker appeared on Thursday's edition of the BBC show, hosted by the former Capital FM presenter and Alex Jones.

Strictly Come Dancing winner Stacey was there to discuss her West End debut, starring as Jenny in the return of 2:22 A Ghost Story. She said she played a woman "on the edge of an existential crisis", the Mirror reports.

She told Roman and Alex: "She's just had a baby. The baby is still on the boob. She's knackered. It's all going on. I thought you know what? If I can try anything, I can try this..."

However the 37-year-old, who welcomed her first child, Minnie, with her partner Kevin Clifton last year, was urged to leave the set just seconds later. Roman was forced to interject as she needed to get ready for that evening's performance.

He said: "In fact, we can't keep you long. I'm being told now, you're on stage in about 40 minutes... and your bike. You've got a motorbike taking you there."

Stacey laughed as she said: "How showbiz is this Roman?" "We need to get this on you," he replied pointing to a motorbike helmet. As Stacey rushed off the set, Roman could be heard chanting, "Go, go, go," while Alex told her to "break a leg".

Stacey's appearance, alongside actress Celia Imrie, went down a storm with viewers. X user @MaisyMooCow said: "Great sofa there on the #TheOneShow with Stacey Dooley and Celia. Stacey is so lovely the way she included Celia in her interview and not just addressing the presenters like most do. So grounded and down to earth."

More praise came from @Rosie, who said: "#TheOneShow aww love stacey Dooley." While @JJ echoed: "Love Stacey."
