BBC The One Show's Roman Kemp shares dad Martin's 'awful' tattoo he picked aged 10
The One Show host Roman Kemp revealed he had picked out a tattoo for his famous dad Martin when he was just 10 - and he actually went through with it. Martin is known to many for his role as Steve Owen in EastEnders and others for being the bassist in Spandau Ballet with his brother Gary.
But not many will have seen the tattoo on his upper arm. The tattoo was unveiled on the BBC show after guest chef Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall revealed he had matching tattoos with his son.
Pulling down his top to reveal the top of his chest, Hugh said: "I can show it to you...it's a sardine. He got his first, I liked it so much I said I want one and he took me to the same tattoo parlour and now we've got one each."

Roman's co-host Alex laughed as she said she could imagine Roman and his dad getting matching ink. Roman then revealed: "No, my dad was actually more unlucky. When I was like 10 he didn't have any tattoos.
"I peer-pressured him into getting his first tattoo and you can imagine what a 10 year old boy wanted...a dagger going through a ying yang with wings on it - and there it is."
A photo then flashed up on the screen as Roman said: "Look how awful that is." A baffled Hugh couldn't believe Martin hadn't had the offending tattoo removed.
He asked 'He's still got it?' as Roman admitted: "That's it today. I'm sorry dad."
