Strictly Come Dancing will return to our screens in a few months and rumours are already swirling about which celebrities might be joining the line-up. Recent speculation suggested a member of the Royal Family had expressed interest in taking part in the show.

Professional dancer Nadiya Bychkova said Princess Anne, who is said to be a big fan of the BBC show, had told her she'd like to compete in the series. There have been many more whispers about famous faces set to take part this year, as well as rumours about one professional dancer's potential departure.

Entertainment expert for, James Leyfield, has revealed the latest betting odds and analysis on which celebrities and professional dancers could feature in the 2024 season. Love Island runner-up Tommy Fury is the odds-on favourite to feature.

Molly-Mae's boxer fiancé is the 4/6 favourite to swap the boxing ring for the ballroom this year and a source recently told The Sun on Sunday newspaper that Strictly bosses were 'trying everything to get Tommy on'.

Other sports stars thought to be in contention for the famous dance contest include darts legend Phil 'The Power' Taylor, who is 11/8, and former England Lioness Jill Scott at 3/1. BBC documentary presenter Louis Theroux is also tipped to star at 2/1, as is Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards at 11/2.

Former This Morning presenter Phillip Schofield made the list at 6/1 and Harry Clark, who won series two of BBC series Traitors, has a 3/1 chance of appearing in the line-up, according to bookies, while fellow contestant Paul Gorton is 7/2.

Gladiators star Nitro is 9/2 to take part in the 22nd Strictly series. Pop Idol winner Will Young is the second-favourite to feature while Princess Anne is (6/1).

One star who Strictly super-fans would love to see in this year's series is pro dancer Amy, who was forced to drop out of last year's edition after she was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer. The fan-favourite has since been given the all-clear and is said to be determined to take part this year.

However, the odds are just 1/3 on Amy making her return in 2024, while fellow pro Neil is 8/11 to land himself a celebrity partner after he missed out in 2023. Nikita Kuzmin is just 2/7 to be in this year's pro line-up after taking part in ITV's Celebrity Big Brother earlier this year, finishing runner-up.

The BBC has yet to confirm an exact date for Strictly Come Dancing's return, however recording for the new series is set to start in September. Last year's launch show aired on September 16, with live shows beginning on September 23.
