Race Across the World viewers were certain about their 'winners' after tonight's episode.

The popular BBC show sees teams battle it out in a trek across Eastern Asia. The pairs must navigate through the region without the use of smartphones, internet or bank cards.

In tonight's episode, the teams had to head towards their next checkpoint in Thailand. However, one moment had viewers in tears.

Owen and Alfie took some time in Thailand's Khao Yai National Park to take in the beautiful scenery and take a look back at the experience so far. Owen said: "Three or four years ago I wouldn't have been able to do this, when I was younger I just didn't like who I was."

He went on to say that his transition from primary to secondary school brought up an emotion "he couldn't shift" and was always worried. As the race continued, married couple Vivian and Stephen were stunned that they were first to register at the checkpoint.

They were followed minutes later by mum and daughter Eugenie and Isabel then siblings Betty and James. But, the cameras cut after Alfie and Owen were miles away from the finish line and faced a £136 taxi bill to reach their final destination.

Despite facing the prospect of elimination, viewers at home had already decided that the boys had won a place in their hearts. One said: "Alfie & Owen's friendship is so real and authentic.

"There is nothing fake between them and they have genuine reasons for winning. I hope they go all the way."

Another wrote: "Alfie and Owen have to win this. Best duo by far out of this lot!"

A third commented: "Love Owen & Alfie on #RaceAcrossTheWorld. Lovely young men who've always been there for each other."

A fourth viewer declared: "There needs to be another TV series waiting for Owen and Alfie after Race Across The World. They are brilliant fun and hugely entertaining."
