BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Giovanni Pernice announces 'a little break' from show

BBC Strictly Come Dancing star Giovanni Pernice has announced a "little break" as fans rush to flood him with support. Giovanni, the Italian pro dancer, confirmed a break on Instagram on his Grid today after his solo tour wrapped up.

"I have had a wonderful time this year on my solo tour and already looking forward to even bigger and better next year! After performing in front of over half a million people for seven years in row, I plan to take a little break after next year’s tour, so book your tickets in advance for ‘GIOVANNI - THE LAST DANCE’ now at www.giovannipernice.com," the BBC Strictly Come Dancing star wrote.

A fan replied: "So glad I got to meet you this year. Booked twice to meet you next year. No one deserves a break more than you do, you work so hard and give so much. Don’t stay away too long you will be very much missed."

"After everything you give us it’s time to take time for you Gio. Your shows have been amazing & the amount of hard work you and the team put into them is so obvious. Multiple tickets already booked for next year, can’t wait to see what you have planned for us. In the meantime see you Sunday xx," a second said.

"A much deserved break too , your a fantastic dancer @giovannipernice, please say it won’t be your VERY LAST DANCE though?? I hope you’ll come back to the theatres at some point , as you’ll be extremely missed by millions of people.
