BBC Strictly star ends engagement and declares 'no more marriages'

The head judge of Strictly Come Dancing, Shirley Ballas has confirmed that she won't be walking down the aisle with her fiance, Danny Taylor. The 63 year old BBC star expressed that she's done with marriage after two failed ones and a long-term relationship.

She and her 50 year old partner crossed paths during the pantomime rehearsals for 'Jack And The Beanstalk' in 2018.

Initially, Ballas had said she'd love to tie the knot with Danny but now her opinion has changed drastically. While in a candid conversation on Alan Carr's Life's A Beach podcast, she delved into her past relationships.

She recollected: "Two marriages, an engagement, two long-term relationships later and I will not be getting married again. I've made the decision."

The Queen of Latin first wed ballroom dancer Sammy Stopford from 1980 to 1984, reports the Express.

Subsequently, a year post their split, she found love again with dancer Corky Ballas; however, they parted ways in 2007 after running strong for 22 years. Ballas unveiled about being engaged at a tender age of 16 years old as well.

Casually laughing off the pattern of her life, she quoted "My mum says they're like buses - you get on one and you get off the other. It's fine."

Managing to accept this change in life, she added, "I just have to get used to that again," also mentioning "I was engaged at 16, married at 19. Remarried at 23 and then two-long term relationships."

It seems that the professional dancer is looking forward to embrace her independence and avoid history repeating itself. Thus, she disclosed changing her priorities.

Contrary to doubts, that might arise due to her no-marriage decision, it is believed that Shirley is still romantically involved with Danny Taylor.

The actor, producer and director took to Instagram on Valentine's Day to express his affection for Shirley, posting a series of snaps showcasing their time together.

His caption read: "Happy Valentine's Day to my beautiful, hilarious, talented, hard working better half Shirley B (Aka Penelope! ) No day is ever the same. Looking forward to seeing you very soon! ".

Shirley, earlier in the month, also shared an update from their cruise adventure, uploading a cheerful snapshot with the caption: "Our @msccruisesofficial journey so far... we've explored, we've sang and we've dined. Xx @danieltayloresq".

She continued to describe their travels: "So far we've seen Vigo in Spain, Funchal in Portugal and our next port is Tenerife. It's been fabulous to visit the towns and learn a little history."

Adding to the travelogue, she mentioned: "Danny has found himself at home on the onboard karaoke club and I've thoroughly enjoyed the shows and food so far."

Concluding her post, Shirley raved about their dining experience: "Yesterday we dined in the speciality restaurant and the tomahawk steak was just divine. Have you ever cruised before? Thank you @msccruisesofficial."
