BBC TV presenter to explore Jurassic Coast

A TV presenter will go through Jurassic Coast’s waters, caves and rocks to deepen the understanding of the experiences of blind people.

Dorset Blind Association and Land & Wave are set to embark on an adventurous fundraising event featuring Amar Latif OBE.

Amar is best known for his inspirational BBC documentary Travelling Blind with Sarah Pascoe and will experience the exhilarating sport of coasteering on the Jurassic Coast.

On June 22, Amar will be taken from Swanage Pier to Dancing Ledge by speedboat, where he will be guided through a coasteering session to demonstrate that adventure can be accessible to all.

This daring activity involves scrambling over rocks, swimming through moving water, exploring caves, and leaping from various heights into the sea.

Meanwhile, one of Land & Wave’s instructors, Verity, will join Amar in the coasteering session while blindfolded to experience the adventure through his perspective.
