Forecasters are predicting a big change in the weather after the mini spring heatwave when temperatures reached above 20C. After a sunny week, rain will set in from tomorrow (Tuesday, June 11) to Sunday, June 23.

Although Tuesday, June 11, and Wednesday, June 12, will be partly sunny, there will be light rain showers and light winds in the afternoon, from 1pm until the evening. Friday, June 14, will see light rain and a gentle breeze from 2pm, according to BBC Weather.

Saturday, June 15, and Sunday, June 16, will be brighter, but there will be light rain showers throughout the day. Wednesday, June 19, to Saturday, June 22, look set to be fairly similar.

Sunday, June 23, appears to be the worst day, with rain forecast throughout the day and thundery showers from 5pm.

A Met Office spokesperson said: "On Friday and over the weekend, the weather will likely remain a mix of sunshine and showers.

"During the daytime on each day, showers could become heavy and slow-moving, and there is a chance these might turn thundery at times. However, not everywhere will catch a shower, and many places may hold on to warm, sunny days with light winds.

"Next week, confidence for any dominant weather regimes is considered very low. There are tentative signs of building high pressure from the west at times, but showers or longer spells of rain are also likely to affect the country, with the eastern half of England and Scotland on balance most likely to experience wetter, or at last more showery weather."
