Beachgoer Caught in Tides Rescued by Helicopter

A beachgoer was rescued by helicopter from Marshall’s Beach, San Francisco, on Tuesday, April 16, after sudden illness prevented him from leaving the beach before becoming caught in the tides, the San Francisco Fire Department Media (SFFD) said.

Footage released by the fire department shows the helicopter rescue seen from Battery Godfrey.

SFFD spokesman Capt Justin Schorr told CBS that the beachgoer had become ill while on the beach and was unable to reach the trail before the tide came in.

The man was hospitalized with “moderate illness”, the report said. Credit: San Francisco Fire Department Media via Storyful
