Major infrastructure improvements are planned for the area surrounding the new Beaulieu Park Station over the coming months. Developers will be carrying out roadworks to ensure the site and it's car park are connected with local roads.

Works will be carried out in phases with the first scheduled for July 8 until August 29, utilising the school holidays when carrying out some of the most disruptive works. It will see Generals Lane temporarily closed for that period of time.

During this time, access to New Hall School will be maintained via the White Hart Lane and Remembrance Avenue entrances. A diversion route will be in place via a temporary connection to Beaulieu Parkway for residents of Generals Lane, emergency services and deliveries.

Station Link will be a new road connecting the A131 Beaulieu Parkway with the future station and Generals Lane. It will be a two-way carriageway with filter lanes providing access to residential areas and into Generals Lane.

The station will have 500 spaces for cycle parking and storage whilst a car park will have more than 700 spaces. There will also be a bus interchange and dedicated taxi bays.

The narrowness of Generals Lane and the safety clearances required to operate plant and machinery in the vicinity of live traffic means the public will not be allowed to use the new road during construction. Further works will remain necessary on Generals Lane after this date with alternative traffic restrictions in place.

A spokesperson for Essex Highways said: "While it is the developer’s responsibility to share information about their works, details are available here. Please note that the programme may be subject to change as the scheme progresses, particularly works that may be affected by poor weather. Throughout the programme, drivers are advised to allow extra time when driving through the area, observing all signage in place."
