A serene beach on the Lincolnshire coast has been crowned the county's finest by those who live in the county. Our sister title Lincolnshire Live conducted a survey to discover people's favourite sandy stretch along our stunning coastline, and Saltfleet emerged victorious.

Saltfleet is a quaint coastal village in East Lindsey, situated just north of Mablethorpe. Its beach, managed collaboratively by Natural England and Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust, is described on the Visit Lincolnshire website as an "unspoilt sandy beach backed by sand dunes" that is "rarely busy".

The beach neighbours the Saltfleetby-Theddlethorpe Dunes, a vast nature reserve boasting tidal sand and mudflats, salt and freshwater marshes, and sand dunes. TripAdvisor reviews praise Saltfleet beach as an ideal spot for dog-walking and a haven for those seeking tranquillity, reports Lincolnshire Live.

One reviewer shared: "Took my dog on a sunny 22C day and we only ran into a handful of people. The beach is huge and perfect for pooches to run around."

In 2023, another reviewer enthused: "What a find on the wild Lincolnshire coast. Our visit was on July 1 - a rather blustery, warm but windy day and we virtually had the beach to ourselves. And what a beach! Vast expanse of soft sand laying flat between the pretty dunes and the sea."

"No frills just a car park with a parking code and a notice board, but with a huge beach to relax on and a pretty walk through the dunes this is a perfect place to unwind! Lincolnshire really does have some unspoilt spots if you stay clear of the towns and take a picnic."

Another reviewer labelled Saltfleet as a "beautiful expanse of beach".
