A Blackburn beauty academy has been named the ‘Most Loved Learning and Education Provider’ at a regional awards.

Chantelle Baldwin set up her Chantelle Louise Beauty Academy two years ago and now caters for clients across the North West.

The academy holds salon days for clients and teaching days for students who want private fully accredited fast-track courses. These are supported and accredited by the Beauty Guild.

Chantelle picked up the honour at the Best of the North West Awards.

It came just days after she was commended at the national Hair and Beauty Awards in the beauty therapist category.

She said: “It is an absolute honour to receive this award.

"Teaching accredited nails, beauty and holistic courses is a real passion to me, and to receive this award is a big achievement.

“I am very grateful to all my students, clients and members of the community who voted.

“The awards night was fabulous and definitely one the most memorable days and nights of my life.”

Chantelle said she had been working in the beauty industry for 15 years and set up The academy at the beauty salon Libra in Blackburn.

She said: “I teach one-to-one and group classes, nails, facials, waxing, massage, eyelash extensions and more.

“I would say to someone who is starting out in the beauty industry, definitely train with a fully accredited training provider, and remember practice makes progress.

“I love my job and as the saying goes get a job you love and you will never work a day in your life, and I really feel that is relevant for me.

“I am very excited to see what the future holds for me and my career and looking forward to taking on a more full-time role in teaching from September working alongside running the salon days at Chantelle Louise Beauty Academy.”
