Beeston Indian restaurant finally opens 3 years after signs said it was 'coming soon'

It was more than three years ago when signs first appeared outside Rogan & Josh promising it was "coming soon" - but finally the business has opened. However, it is just a takeaway for now.

The owners of the Indian and South Asian eatery promise the full restaurant experience will be "opening soon" in Wollaton Road, Beeston. It will join the ranks of the town's existing Indian restaurants Yak & Yeti, in Wollaton Road, Lagan in Chilwell Road and Gurkha Express in High Road.

Until then customers can order for collection or delivery with a wide-ranging menu including signature Rogan Josh dishes using chicken, lamb and king prawns with Hydrabadi, Bombay, Shai, and Lahori variations.

Other main dishes include Karahi, Kashmir, Jalfrezi, Palak and Malia and Kallan, a south Indian curry cooked with coconut milk and mango. Tandoori, and biryani and vegetarian Korma, Aloo Palak and Aloo Channa also feature on the menu.

The website says: "Our pride lies in our diverse selection of Indian cuisine. We employ traditional cooking techniques and source the freshest, top quality ingredients to ensure an authentic Indian culinary experience."

The shop has been empty since around 2015 after the closure of Handy Bloke's plumbing and electrical services.
