Belfast boxer Anthony Cacace touched down in Saudi Arabia on Saturday ahead of the biggest night of his career. 'The Apache' takes on Joe Cordina for the Welshman's IBF World super-featherweight title next weekend.

The fight is co-main event alongside the titanic heavyweight showdown between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh. It is a potentially life-changing bout for the Andersonstown man.

Cacace flew over to Saudi Arabia on Saturday to finish his preparations for the fight. He was treated to first-class seats on the 3,300-mile flight and was then chauffeur driven to a luxury five-star hotel where he will stay.

The 35-year-old and his team - which included Michael Hawkins (head trainer), Michael Hawkins Jnr (coach), Andy O’Neill (cutman), and brother Matthew Cacace - were also presented with bouquets of flowers on arrival at their accommodation.

It is a massive opportunity for Cacace as he looks to write his name in the list of Irish boxing greats. And the IBO World super-feather champion insists he is ready to do the business in front of what will be a huge global audience.

"I am not here to make up the numbers. I am here to win that belt," Cacace told Belfast Live.

"Yes, I am the underdog and he is the big favourite. But he is the one with everything to lose. I am just a guy from Andytown living the dream.

"Part of that dream is winning that title next Saturday night, and I have no doubt I can do that. I can't wait. Being part of this card in Saudi Arabia is brilliant, it is what boxing is all about.

"And I am ready to deliver."
