Belfast police investigating report dirt bike riders 'narrowly miss' colliding with baby's pram

Police are investigating a report two teenagers riding dirt bikes on a Belfast road 'narrowly missed' colliding with a pram containing a baby girl.

The PSNI say they received a report of the "extremely frightening" incident from her mother around 10 minutes after it happened on the Falls Road near its junction with the Glen Road around 5.10pm on Thursday.

It is understood the woman was pushing her "baby daughter's pram" when two older teenage boys "narrowly missed colliding with the front" of it.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

A police spokesperson said: "This happened on Falls Road near the junction with the Glen Road around 5.10pm and they made off towards Andersonstown Road."

They told us the dirt bikes were reported to be two older teenage boys.

"She was distraught at what may have happened."

A post on a PSNI Facebook page reads: "West Belfast Police are investigating a report of two dirt bikes being driven in the Falls Road area yesterday.

"These off road vehicles narrowly missed a female pushing a pram. This was extremely frightening.

"We urge those responsible to think about the risks of this behaviour on your own community. Please continue to report this activity to Police."
