Gardening fans will be pleased to know that the BBC's much-loved Garden Rescue show is returning to our screens soon. The ninth season of Garden Rescue will feature a whopping 35 episodes to enjoy.

The show sees garden expert Charlie Dimmock and the Rich brothers compete against one another to design gardens for people who need a hand from people with green fingers. The two teams produce a design to suit the space within a certain budget and then the garden owner chooses which vision becomes a reality.

Now gardening fans don't have long to wait to see more garden transformations as the new series kicks off on Monday, April 29, at 3.45pm on BBC1 and new episodes will continue to air each weekday at the same time.

The first episode will see the team in Port Sunlight, Merseyside, to work on a scruffy cottage garden. Then, in episode two, they'll be off to Wales to transform a garden for a retired archaeologist. She has a small Victorian garden filled with historical treasures she's picked up over the years, providing a unique challenge for Charlie and the team.

Charlie previously revealed why fans don't get to see her own green space. During an interview with the Daily Express, the star confessed that her own garden was rarely in "tip-top condition".

Charlie said: "Firstly I have to say my garden isn't always in tip-top condition. Unfortunately I tend to be away working at the more critical busy times (spring and summer) so I often get behind.

"With all gardens it's best to do maintenance frequently and regularly that way you actually make the maintenance easier. For example, by tackling weeds often, they don't get the chance to set seed so, long term, you reduce their numbers making weeding easier and easier."
