What did you miss?

This is the playful moment that Ben Shephard told Kate Garraway why he wanted to move to This Morning, saying: "I'm upgrading from Kate to Cat."

They have been on-screen TV "husband and wife" for many years now on Good Morning Britain but now he is moving to This Morning alongside Cat Deeley in March. Last week ITV finally announced their new presenters after months of trialling different celebrities to replace Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.

Willoughby quit This Morning after 14 years after it was reported she become the target of an alleged kidnap and murder plot. The co-hosts left within months of each other as five months before married Schofield stepped down from This Morning over an "unwise but legal affair" with a younger male colleague.

Friday will be Shephard's last day on GMB before he starts his new gig. On the countdown to his new TV job just across the hall, Shephard cheekily revealed what he is looking forward to most - which certainly made his co-host Garraway giggle.

What, how and why?

In jest, Shephard told Garraway what he really loved about This Morning: "The cheesecake is spectacular." Garraway quizzed her co-presenter saying was this the reason he was making the move. She said: "Is it the cheesecake that swung it?"

Cheeky Shephard teased Garraway over her untidiness as he said he was "upgrading" to work alongside Cat Deeley. He added: "I'm not gonna lie the co-host is pretty lovely too!" Garraway hit back: "Cat is very tidy."

Shephard said: "I'm upgrading from Kate to Cat." Garraway erupted into giggles at this point as they playfully pretended to spat on air. Shephard kept the joke going. "She's impeccable in her admin," he teased. Garraway demanded to know, "Is she?"

He fired back in jest: "It was one of the first things I demanded... No it wasn't."

Garraway hit her pen up and down on the desk in protest. She questioned him further saying: "Is she tidier than Kate Garraway? Does she shed hair?"

"Everybody is tidier than Kate Garraway!" Shephard exclaimed - hilariously Garraway agreed with him.

"That's a fair point," she admitted. "She's adorable, Cat's adorable and we are not going to talk about it all morning." She cheekily added: "But you may notice a few digs during the show. Ben Shephard is off to This Morning!"

On a more serious note, Shephard said he gave his decision great thought before jumping ship to ITV's other programme. The presenter had shared his great love for his Good Morning Britain family, especially Kate Garraway with whom he has worked with for a long time.

"Thank you for all the amazing messages that I have had," he told Good Morning Britain viewers. "Obviously I have considered this very carefully because these guys have been my family for 10 years, some of them for longer."

Garraway piped up to joke about their long-running friendship and TV partnership saying they had been together for more than a 100 years. She jested: "142 for me."

Shephard further explained why he had made the decision, saying: "It's not something I have taken lightly. It feels like quite an exciting opportunity." Always supportive of her friend, Garraway chimed in: "Of course it is."

Shephard revealed that Friday will be his last day on Good Morning Britain before starting on This Morning in March. He said: "Tomorrow is going to be my last day." The presenter joked that the team had cheered because they were excited he was going but Garraway said everyone was so happy he got the gig.
