Yahoo News Benidorm star discusses reboot after ITV show trended on Netflix
Benidorm star Sherrie Hewson has discussed the idea of a reboot following the show's success on Netflix.
The ITV series originally ran for 10 seasons between 2007 and 2018, though has gained a new lease of life after being added to Netflix.
Speaking to OK! about the show, Sherrie – who played Joyce Temple-Savage on the series – admitted she would "definitely" do a reboot, and even suggested a movie spin-off.

“I think Benidorm is bigger now than when we were actually on television," she said. "People stop me and say, ‘I’m rewatching Benidorm again.’ It’s been in the top 10 on Netflix.
“There’s nothing on telly like it, is there? I call it Carry On funny because it’s a very British sense of humour."
Addressing a possible revival, Sherrie added: "I’d definitely go back – we all loved our time on Benidorm. I say they should make a film out of it.”
The actor also revealed that she is “still in touch with a lot of the cast still”, notably Kenneth Du Beke star Tony Maudsley, whom she speaks to "every other day".

"We never stop talking about Benidorm – it was 10 years of our lives,” she added.
Sherrie also compared her character Joyce with her current Hollyoaks role as Martha Blake, noting: “I’ve never been an out-and out baddie before – I just love it! Joyce Temple-Savage was a bit of a bitch, but very funny."
As well as Sherrie, Benidorm also starred the likes of Cleaning Up's Sheridan Smith and Ted Lasso's Hannah Waddingham in early roles, as well as Inside No 9's Steve Pemberton and comedian Johnny Vegas.
Benidorm is streaming now on Netflix.
