Trenchers

New Quay Road

This restaurant and takeaway has 3,861 'excellent' rated reviews on TripAdvisor with customers regularly raving about it.

Recent diners praised it as 'brilliant, well worth a visit' and said: 'there is so much to like about this restaurant, from the friendly staff through to the ultra clean environment. The food was excellent and the service fast and efficient. However, it is the little touches that made this restaurant a cut above the others, for example the ladies room had both facial tissues and hand cream available and the pot of tea was serviced with a generous jug of milk and a separate pot of hot water. All, in all, an excellent visit and heartily recommended to anybody visiting Whitby."

Magpie Cafe

Pier Road

'The best fish and chips in Yorkshire bar none' said one reviewer - the Magpie also attracted praise from TV presenter Jane McDonald on one visit.

"We read several reviews and decided to try this one for British Fish and Chips. We were not disappointed. It was great. The service was fast and accurate. The fish was lightly battered, crunchy and flaky on the inside. The fries were perfect. Be sure to try the Dandelion and Burdock soda. Who knew?" said another reviewer.
