American superstar P!NK, known for her electrifying and gravity-defying performances, is flying into Hampden this weekend.

She is playing two nights at Scotland's national stadium in the south side of Glasgow as part of her huge European Tour, with gigs on Friday and Saturday (June 28 and 29).

And should you be heading along but looking for somewhere to enjoy a wee drink beforehand, we've picked some of the spots that are within reasonable walking distance of the stadium in Mount Florida.

When the sun's out in the south side, there are few more spacious or accommodating beer gardens on offer.

Picturesque views of Queens Park and Battlefield before you, a stunning old church building behind you and the sun shining above - what more do you need?

It does excellent pints and the food selection is always on point too. You might want to book in advance when the mercury rises above 20c but don't worry, there is plenty of seating inside too.

Beechings

Right opposite Cathcart Station, you'll find the simple and unfussy, but reliable Beechings.

This local boozer reopened its rooftop beer garden for the first time in 15 years during lockdown and it's one with a difference.

The pub is housed in the former ticket office of Cathcart train station, with the stairs leading up to the old platform and the perfect south side spot to watch the trains go by while enjoying a nice ice-cold pint of T.

This a new wee spot on Cathcart Road and is basically a stones throw away from the stadium. The owners are lovely and the team behind the bar always welcoming.

As well as an excellent drink selection, they also offer some tasty food. It's a cracking pub for those who want to be as close as possible to Hampden.

Florida Park

Not far from Hampden and just off Cathcart Road on Battlefield Road, the FP is a great wee bar that's just had a refurb.

Family run and with great service on offer, it's also got some great value when it comes to drinks and if the weather is good, may even have its beer garden open.

Clockwork

Somewhat of a south side institution, if you pass the Clockwork on a Hampden matchday you'll be met with queues down the street, with punters more than happy to wait to enjoy the excellent atmosphere.

Come summer they open up a sizeable spot with benches out the back, making it a hugely popular stop off in the sun before nipping to the turnstiles at Hampden.

Armstrong's

A home from home for Scotland fans making their way to Hampden, this character-filled Battlefield boozer benefits from its bar staff's ability to get pints out quickly when punters have poured through the doors.

Set over two levels, there's a pool table for people to enjoy and a decent-sized beer garden out the back, all within a short walk of the national stadium.

The Smiddy

This one might be a better bet for a quieter spot. Offering loads of space, a beer garden and plenty of cracking pub grub, it's a no-brainer of a base camp for fans heading to the gigs.

It sits close to Cathcart Station and again is not too far a walk to Hampden.

Number 10 Hotel

Perched on a beautiful spot overlooking Queen's Park Recreation Ground, this place may get the majority of its trade from hosting weddings and overnight stays, but its stylish and well-maintained beer garden is more than worth a visit in the sunshine.

Fully booked out for Scotland's Euro 2020 games last summer, it's an attractive stop off for people wanting a drink and a bite to eat in comfort, while making the most of the weather in its hidden beer garden.
