It's that time of year when many of us will be pulling our suitcases out or checking our passports are in date as we set off for a summer break.

Now a flight attendant has shared her top tips to snag the best deals. With summertime dreams of sun-soaked excursions, the stark reality hits with the ongoing cost of living crisis, prompting cutbacks on luxuries. However, even amid financial strain, there are savvy ways to enjoy a holiday without breaking the bank.

Joellen, a flight attendant doubling as a digital marketer, regularly dispenses valuable travel advice on her social media platforms, TikTok and Instagram, under the handle @successwithjoellen, entertaining an audience of over 40,000 followers. She recently shared knowledge claiming "all aspiring jet setters" can "fly anywhere" if they master the trick to securing the most favourable prices.

According to her, the day you book can have a huge impact on your wallet as she advises booking flights on Tuesdays at midnight for the lowest fares, adding that Wednesdays and Saturdays also tend to offer lower prices. Yet she cautions against booking flights during the weekend, despite Saturday being one of the cheaper days to fly.

She also recommends using search engines like Google and Skyscanner, setting your filter to "anywhere" to find budget flights under £78.36. She advises using "incognito mode" and clearing your cache as airlines are known to increase prices based on your search history.

While mailing lists can sometimes clutter our inboxes, she suggests signing up for airline newsletters to receive exclusive deals. She also shared some advice about using your mobile phone overseas, stating: "Always use a VPN in a cheaper country because it'll save you money."
