Bette Midler is ready to join “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” — and she's even got her tagline
Andy Cohen is excited about the prospect, but questions if the Divine Miss M would enjoy being followed by cameras all the time.
From First Wives to Housewives, Bette Midler is ready to stir up some drama.
While she has never seen The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Midler gets the gist of what the show is about and wants in on the fun.
"Is it too late for me to become a Real Housewife of Beverly Hills?" the Divine Miss M asked on X, f.k.a. Twitter, this weekend. "I’ve never watched it, but I am in the mood to talk some s---. And to get paid for it? A dream!"
While we don't know what caused this desire for talking s---, or what tea Midler is eager to spill, everyone seems to be on board.
Bravo, the home of the Housewives, tweeted in response, "Talk about a glorious crossover!"

Housewives whisperer Andy Cohen also tweeted his support in casting Midler, writing, "It's time!" Later, on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live, he doubled down on his enthusiasm, saying Midler "would be the grand dame of Beverly Hills in a second," but questioned if she'd actually enjoy the experience.
Cohen recalled working on a 48 Hours profile on the Emmy, Grammy, and Tony winner around 1997 and Midler did not care for cameras being all up in her (show) business.
"We were following her with our cameras and she's like, 'What are you doing?'" Cohen explained. "And we're like, 'Well, this is kind of how we do it,' and she's like, 'No.' So my only concern, as I was really thinking this through, is, I don't know that she would love us just showing up with cameras running, gunning her. I think she likes fine setups and things."
Nevertheless, the First Wives Club star seems game and responded to Cohen's tweet with her own brilliant tagline, "Those Beaches don’t know what’s about to hit ‘em!!" — a reference to her 1988 tissue-two-hander with Barbara Hershey.
Fans were quick to offer their own takes on potential taglines, such as "Wind beneath my wings? You're the dust left in my wake."
Which, of course, got us thinking, so here are a few other options, should Midler join the ranks of other actresses like Lisa Rinna, Denise Richards, and Garcelle Beauvais and grace the Beverly Hills franchise (and after this season, they need her!).
"[sings] You don't own me... But I own everything!"
“Some say love, it is a river. Well, I’m the whole damn ocean.”
"I put a spell on you! And now... you're basic."
"They call me the Divine Miss M. Pray to God you don't cross me."
"Did you ever know that you're my hero? 'Cuz you're not!"
