Biden aides ‘secretly refer to Trump as Hitler Pig’
Staff working for Joe Biden privately refer to Donald Trump as “Hitler Pig”, a media outlet has claimed.
The nickname was created following a dinner that Mr Trump held with white supremacist Nick Fuentes and anti-Semitic rapper Kanye West at his Mar-a-Lago home in 2022, four people “in Biden’s orbit” told Politico.
The alleged insult resurfaced earlier this week following reports that Mr Trump fell asleep in court during his hush money trial in New York.
“Hitler Pig sleepy”, an individual associated with Mr Biden wrote on a message thread about the reports, according to Politico.
The nickname is viewed as a way for Biden staffers to voice their disgust at Mr Trump’s perceived willingness to engage with white supremacists.
It is generally deployed by younger, more digitally native individuals, not senior staff members, according to Politico’s sources.
The publication added that the aides will often share clips of Mr Trump with comments or say to colleagues in the room: “Hey, did you see what Hitler Pig said?”
Images of Mr Trump as a “Hitler Pig” character first started appearing online before being adopted at a later date by “people in the president’s orbit”, according to Politico.
‘Ridiculous and gross’
In response to the alleged nickname, Brian Hughes, a senior Trump campaign adviser, told Politico: “Joe Biden talks a lot about decency, but he and his staff don’t have a decent bone in their bodies.
“These ridiculous and gross comments reflect the failure and dishonesty of the entire Biden operation.”
The Trump campaign has also called claims that the former president fell asleep in court “100 per cent fake news”.
Mr Trump, 77, has his own history of making up nicknames to ridicule political opponents.
He refers to Mr Biden as “Sleepy Joe”. Past monikers have included “Little Marco” Rubio, “Crazy Nancy” Pelosi and “Lying Ted” Cruz.
After referring to Nikki Haley by her Indian birth name “Nimbra” during the 2024 Republican primary race, Mr Trump was criticised for using ethnicity to mock a rival.
In 2018, Elizabeth Warren, then a Democrat presidential hopeful, accused Mr Trump of making “a racist political joke” out of her claims of Native American ancestry by referring to her as “Pocahontas”.
