Nuneaton Carnival 2024 is just weeks away but there is one big change. The annual event is taking place on Sunday, June 9.

It is set to follow its usual route but, this year, instead of starting at 1pm, the procession will get under way at the earlier time of 12pm. This year's theme is 'around the world'.

Organisers are still finalising numbers for the procession but a spokesperson said: "We are expecting a good number of floats, a marching band, diggers and much more. We are also working on a special surprise for before the procession itself so watch this space."

There will also be a change to the food court area. The spokesperson said: "This is with an aim to keep prices down to help families coming to the field."

The carnival, like so many other good causes, is feeling the pinch. Bosses say that sponsorship from generous local businesses has been vital.

"We really hope the town comes out to support the carnival again this year," the spokesperson said. "It is with huge thanks to many local businesses that we have been able to put this year's event on."

More details on the event, including a full list of road closures, are set to follow in the coming weeks.
