Burnley-born radio presenter Jordan North is no stranger to a celebrity interview, but his latest one has got to be the most memorable yet.

Promoting her latest album 'Hit Me Hard and Soft', American singer songwriter Billie Eilish has travelled across the pond on her latest media junket. Chatting with North for Capital Radio, the two were filmed at Claridges for a 'Very London Lunch' - a play on one of her most recent songs, Lunch.

In the interview, North covers a range of topics including Syphilis, mealtime etiquette and , but one of the most memorable parts was when the northerner taught Eilish some rather northern phrases. Talking about his roots in Burnley, North asks the American whether she can guess where in the UK he's from and whether or not he has an accent - the answer is a resounding "yes" by the way.

Then, conversation turns to food and Eilish explains one of her favourite foods is "sandwiches" and dutifully, North explains that we often like to refer to them as a "butty". The presenter then has to spell out this common phrase for the singer, who is clearly very confused by the name, pronunciation and concept.

On the subject of slang, Eilish queries: "What do you think is the weirdest thing you guys say?" As a proud Lancastrian, North replies: "Put wood int' 'ole."

A common phrase for us up north, to mean "shut the door" but understandably, to an American ear it must have sounded like a completely different language. He also teaches the singer the insult "gob*****," interestingly North's favourite swear word.

After this language and dialect lesson, the conversation does switch to Eilish's new album and reaction from fans and critics, where the singer states it's like "reading her diary". You can watch the interview here.
