Billy Joel isn’t "Movin' Out" of New York entirely.

The “Uptown Girl” singer, 74, revealed on stage during his New Year’s Eve performance at the UBS Arena in New York that despite putting his long-time Long Island home up for sale, he isn’t planning to relocate full time.

“Just because I’m selling that house, doesn’t mean I’m leaving Long Island,” Joel told the audience, according to USA Today. He joked that “nobody” would probably purchase the property for its sky-high listing price anyway and assured the audience that he would be back in his home state soon after a brief break.

Joel listed the 20,000 sq. ft. waterfront mansion — which he has called home for over 20 years — for $49 million in May 2023.

“I’m just gonna spend a little more time in Florida like old Jewish guys from Long Island do,” he said, adding that he also has another home on Long Island that he plans to keep.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer wed his fourth wife, Alexis Roderick, at the Oyster Bay, New York estate in 2015, but the pair has been spending more time at their Florida home since, the Wall Street Journal reported. He purchased that home in 2015 for $22 million, per the outlet.

The five-bedroom, six-bathroom Long Island mansion is listed with Bonnie Williamson of Daniel Gale Sotheby's International Realty. The property features a three-bedroom beach house, in-ground pool, helicopter pad, and a floating dock and boat ramp.

During the concert, the singer-songwriter also noted that 2023 “was kind of a weird year for me. Nice in some ways, [expletive] in other ways. I’m looking forward to next year anyways,” Joel said, per USA Today.

He announced in June that he was ending his famed monthly Madison Square Garden residency in New York City after a decade. "After 10 years, we've done it," Joel told PEOPLE in an exclusive interview last month.

"I mean, I didn't realize it would last 10 years," he continued. "And I don't know how many shows it is, I'm sure somebody's keeping track of it somewhere, but I'm amazed that we went this far, and I'm honored.”
