Billy Magnussen, Sarah Gadon And Hamish Linklater Among Those Rounding Out Cast Of Imperative And Sony’s ‘A Big Bold Beautiful Journey’

EXCLUSIVE: Hamish Linklater, Billy Magnussen, Sarah Gadon, Brandon Perea and Yuvi Hecht have joined the cast of Imperative Entertainment and 30WEST’s uplifting romance A Big Bold Beautiful Journey. They join Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell, who are starring with Kogonada directing. Sony Pictures will release the film in theaters globally. Lily Rabe, Jodie Turner-Smith, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and newcomer Lucy Thomas make up the remaining ensemble.

The script is written by Seth Reiss. Imperative Entertainment’s Dan Friedkin, Bradley Thomas and Ryan Friedkin will produce the feature, along with Reiss and Youree Henley. Executive producers include Kogonada, Ilene Feldman and Original Films’ Ori Eisen. 30WEST is financing the film.

Plot details are under wraps, but A Big Bold Beautiful Journey is described as an imaginative tale of two strangers and the extraordinary emotional journey that connects them.

Linklater is currently starring as “Abraham Lincoln in the Apple TV+ limited series Manhunt. His directorial debut Downtown Owl, which he co-directed with Rabe, was recently released via Sony Pictures. He will next be seen in the Plan B feature The Nickel Boys, directed by RaMell Ross, based on Coldon Whitehead’s 2020 Pulitzer Prize winning novel.

Magnussen can currently be seen in MGM and Amazon Prime Video’s highly successful feature Road House from acclaimed director Doug Liman. Up next, he is set to star in Disney’s live-action adaptation of Lilo & Stitch, under the direction of Oscar-nominated filmmaker Dean Fleischer Camp. He also takes the lead in the independent film Violent Ends penned and directed by John-Michael Powell, and Coup! opposite Peter Sarsgaard. Both projects he executive produced through his production company, HappyBad Bungalow.

Gadon is known for her work in Mary Harron’s highly acclaimed Netflix limited series Alias Grace. Gadon’s most recent credits include Michael Mann’s Ferrari and Carly Stone’s North of Normal.

Perea starred alongside, Daniel Kaluuya, Keke Palmer, and Steven Yeun in Jordan Peele’s Nope and he previously starred in Netflix’s The OA created by Brit Marling and Zal Batmangli. Perea will next be seen opposite Glenn Powell and Daisy Edgar Jones in Universal’s upcoming summer tentpole film, Twisters, directed by Lee Isaac Chung.

Making is feature film debut in A Big Bold Beautiful Journey, Hecht previously starred in in the Disney+ horror-comedy series, Pretty Freekin’ Scary, based on the acclaimed children book series.
